green-baltic-0110.jpgIt ain’t easy being green. When we last heard from the Green Giant of Baltic Street back in September, the newly constructed commercial space was still sitting empty. Yesterday Lost City checked in with the wallflower and, sure enough, it’s still available. The blog takes issue with some of the marketing verbiage though. Rather than calling it “the most architecturally alluring storefront in Cobble Hill,” as the listing from Vespa Reality does, the blog suggests a rewrite: “I’ll give them this: It’s the most architecturally singular storefront in the neighborhood.” The blog also offers up a couple of more reasons why the space hasn’t found a taker yet: “It must be a bitch to heat in the winter and probably becomes a sauna in the summer. Not to mention the window-washing bills.”

  1. Cobble,

I totally hear you, and I know a lot of the comments he makes are for attention, but accepting his behavior is so similar to the way Americans put people like Paris Hilton up on a pedestal for acting like an idiot (even though I don’t believe she is one in “real” life).

I just think that in Rob’s attempt to gain attention he has basically made himself look like the very people he claims to dislike so much.

While I oftentimes think a comment or two of his is funny, I find the attention seeking side (especially when I can barely say a THING on here without him making some snot ass remark) to be at a really low level.

I really don’t get along with people who lack curiosity about the world, their surroundings or pretty much anything else for that matter.

But I also know that Rob is a lot more loved around here than I am, so I’ll shut up now.

  2. and no one coddles my ignorance, i get called out all the time when an ignorant thing flows through my fingertips or passes my lips!

    But he’s not mean-spirited

🙁 except when i told you that your cookies are dry! 😉

    *rob*

  3. “Don’t coddle to ignorance…it’s really not healthy for anyone.”

I don’t really think it’s ignorance so much as attention seeking, 11217. And frankly, I don’t believe a word he says 90% of the time, or better said, don’t know what to believe of what he says. But he’s not mean-spirited most of the time.

  4. “And then his statement that he doesn’t like Christians, Jews, Muslims and Catholics.”

In fairness though, 11217, he immediately corrected himself and explained what he meant by his religion comment. ^^^^ So it’s really not fair to keep re-posting it without his clarification that he doesn’t hate the people at all, only organized religion. I’m culturally Jewish and religiously agnostic, so I wasn’t offended and knew what he meant.

That said, yes, I love *rob* (no homo), but I’ll concede that once in a blue moon (lol), which we just had, he crosses the line. No reason to hate all of Europe, *rob*, just cuz the SoHo-invading Europeans make your workday a living hell!! According to today’s Times, you really can’t even hate Serbia anymore now that they’re on the path to EU membership.

BTW, 11217, I want to talk to you about Buenos Aires one day soon.

  5. At least rob voices some opinions that can be read as intelligent, ignorant, racist, assinine or many other things.

randolph just comes onto a thread and criticizes, never adding anything or voicing an opinion, as stupid as it may be.

Maybe randolph is smart enough not to voice her opinion , knowing full well how idiotic she typically sounds
