Still No Takers For Big Green Space on Baltic
It ain’t easy being green. When we last heard from the Green Giant of Baltic Street back in September, the newly constructed commercial space was still sitting empty. It ain’t easy being green. When we last heard from the Green Giant of Baltic Street back in September, the newly constructed commercial space was still sitting empty. Yesterday Lost City checked in with the wallflower and, sure enough, it’s still available. The blog takes issue with some of the marketing verbiage though. Rather than calling it “the most architecturally alluring storefront in Cobble Hill,” as the listing from Vespa Reality does, the blog suggests a rewrite: “I’ll give them this: It’s the most architecturally singular storefront in the neighborhood.” The blog also offers up a couple of more reasons why the space hasn’t found a taker yet: “It must be a bitch to heat in the winter and probably becomes a sauna in the summer. Not to mention the window-washing bills.”

I can really feel the love in this thread.
thanks dave. it means alot to me.
OK dave- i think the green storefront is fucking retarded. the only thing that makes sense in there is an art gallery or a garden store. and even those two scenarios make little to no sense.
happy?

Thoughtful, intellectually composed and concise. Well done, randi.
I’ve never actually heard a storefront referred to as “retarded,” though.
rob is not really closed-minded. I have found him reflective and thoughtful many times.
OoOOoOOOH! it has tall ceilings and a visible front. it could be a great place for gladiator competitions!!! like on that old show american gladiators where people would stand on podiums with big foam bats and wack each other until one falls off!!!

What about some kind of awning(s) for the front of the building? To help shade it? It might even need two rows due to the height, but, done well, it could be very attractive.
From the top of the building, that would be one way to keep it cool, and it could have signage on it. The sidewalk is fairly deep, I wonder if you could have a row of little tables at night in warmer weather?
i have never seen someone freak out so hardcore about a wig. seriously dude, get some help! i think youre slowly losing your marbles.

No Rob,
You are the most closed minded person on this blog actually.
You hate Prospect Park, organized religion, children, Park Slope, gay people, any store which doesn’t sell video games or 40’s, I could continue on and on and on.
I’ve asked you numerous times to stop reacting to my posts and to stop making comments about a wig, but you continue to do so anyway.
You should quit while you are behind.
CarGar, I answered you on the OT 🙂
