Uh-oh- Seems that camping says Saturday was a spiritual, not actual, rapturing and the real rapturing will now occur in October. So it did happen, we just didn’t notice it.
The What pulled this same stunt a few years ago. At least we all got to go to the beach fo a short time.
Kens clearly seems to be one of the few, if not the only one, here with first hand experience with the SYs. As cynical as I am in general, I’ll take his explanation over anyone else’s. Besides, if there really was money laundering here, do people really believe the Feds, IRS, etc. wouldn’t be ALL over it? I can’t imagine an easier target out there if shenanigans were involved.
I mean, c’mon lech, aren’t you always saying that the market is what makes these perfectly ordinary houses in places like brooklyn heights/etc. sell for five times what a house would sell for somewhere else?
People want to live somewhere, a bunch of other rich fucks want to live there too, there’s a finite amount of housing, suddenly shit is really expensive. If it can make a $80,000 house in bed stuy worth $750,000 and a parking space in manhattan worth $100k, it can make some boring house in gravesend worth a buttload of money too.

Dunno, Lech- seems to be worth it to the guy plunking down the money.

-the Syrians live in Gravesend, not Bensonhurst.

-their homes are far from ordinary.

“I’m willing to bet my reputation there’s fire there too.”
Well. That’s quite a wager.
