  1. I bet she has done well, Benson. If someone is a good business person, they can make good money in that business. And now, I am sure that she does really well and has a lot of fun. Is she a psychologist to her clients? I used to enjoy going to get my hair done. I would talk to the woman who cuts my hair a lot about her family (our families have a lot in common) and her art. She is a photographer and I love her work. She is a very talented person. But these days she is always in a grumpy mood and she charges a LOT, too much. The hair colorist is wealthy. She had her own business, owns expensive property and used to own a salon. She is a bit annoying though because she bloviates on politics and has ABSOLUTELY no idea what she is talking about. I find her to be tiresome. I would love to find somebody else.

  2. “Both are eminently changeable. It’s not like these people die if they move to another neighborhood, they just have to build another synogogue or whatever. ”

yes, that’s right, why on earth wouldn’t someone belonging to a small close-knit community and move far away from it to save some cash when you’re rich and your other option is flaunting your richness.

(rolls eyes) And if I were a rich anal-retentive yuppie parent whose kids went to PSwhateveritis, why would I pay $3m for a brownstone in the slope when I could buy one in east new york for $350k??

The only possible answer is moneylaundering.
