I’ll put what Lech just said in another way, and I’m paraphrasing Edward Deming here: Every innovation known to man has come from a producer. There is not a single innovation known to man that has sprung from the mind of a consumer.
If anyone knows of a consumer who thought up the IPOD, let me know.

Dona- I really object to the idea of connecting “liberal” and “Left” with automatic America hatred.
Get a grip. No one said ALL liberals and lefties automatically hate America.

It’s the producers who should be thanked, not the consumers.
Take 100 people in the middle of nowhere and give them all a million dollars in cash but nothing to sell. The money is completely useless. It only has value once people start producing things. And the more they produce, the better off everyone is. If everyone works hard and produces a lot, prices go down and everyone benefits.
So reward the people who produce, not the people who consume. Producers are serving consumers, not vice versa.

While leftwing nutjobs vent more openly, those on the right are much more insidious, hating the democratic ideas and the constitution we live by, but their marketing scheme is brilliant- wrap it in the flag. You can really sucker them in that way.

Excuse me but what makes you assume liberals are more prone to hate America? Are you saying those of us here who happen to be to the left hate this country? Because you would be very very wrong.
Bxgrl, I really don’t. Dave had some comments but they were not mine. I was trying to make the point that the issue with this guy who is purportedly liberal is that HE (in the particular) is a hater of the US. Not that American liberals have a self-hating attitude.
