  1. Random Rant Of The Day:

    http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/04/15/2168425/south-fla-customs-stops-5-pests.html

What’s with all these invasive plant and animal species taking over the US landscape?

    West Nile Virus
Ailanthus trees (those trees that grow on highways)
    Snakehead fish
    Longhorn beetles
Wild boars our of control in the midwest

Where I live, there’s this seed pod that washes up in the summer with the shark eggs.
It’s very hard and has several horns on it.
If you step on it, you’re in for some pain because they’re like miniature land mines.
It’s called a Devilnut and apparently it’s an invasive
    aquatic plant species. WTF?
Even our oceans are being taken over by seed pods?

I hope the US is exporting wolverines and raccoons and they’re running wild over Europe and Asia. It serves them right!

  2. From the Breukleen restaurant thread from yesterday. I wonder how that works…

“There is a sign on the door that says they are taking a breather — so maybe it’s too soon to say they’re closed.”
