  1. Creative thinking is one of the last competitive advantages the U.S. has left in the global economy, and schools should be encouraging it.

There is a need for discipline, but policies like zero tolerance and the banning of anything that might possibly be disruptive does no one any good.

  2. Heard on Morning Joe that a Federal judge lifted a Pennsylvania school district’s ban on “I <3 boobies!” bracelets, worn to promote breast cancer awareness, finding they were neither lewd nor vulgar. School officials had argued the slogan suggests a double meaning (they’d no doubt ban the OT) and led to in-school distractions.

No doubt banned by Republicans, who support less government and oppose government regulation and intrusion in our lives. Except when they don’t.

Thank God for activist Democratic judges.

(Seeing if I can stir up a political argument this morning before launching another punfest like we had yesterday)

  3. bfar, for future reference, there’s a roof hatch & ladder that Legion typically uses for after hours ingress and egress to the PLUSA offices. He’s been confounding cobble’s security for years.

  4. “It was so dark and cold.”

That is only because you did not have to love of god in your heart to keep you warm.

(seeing if I can stir up a religious argument this morning instead of the punfest we had yesterday)
