  1. it would be cool if we evolved and had wings.

so does evolution means that there will be a mutation, and some dude will have wings?

but then he’d have to get laid and then make other hue-mons with the wing mutation.

  2. I agree lech, but i think its more accurate to say based on the current state of knowledge, our assessment of the evidence we do have may or may not be correct.Asking to know if we were “designed” or not, is more a question of art 🙂

BTW gem, it’s very possible there was interbreeding among neanderthals, cro-magnons and other hominids.

  3. “I worked with a Japanese guy once with really short arms.
He had to tilt to get money out of his pocket.”

I knew someone like that as well. He was not Japanese. This guy also had narrow droopy shoulders.

  4. WHAT IS THE EVIDENCE FOR EVOLUTION?

First lets understand that the theory has many aspects, but the two that most people mean are:

    1. Life, in the form of single celled organisms. developed out of some sort of primordial non-life soup.

Is there any evidence for this? OF COURSE NOT!
    Proof? Preposterous!!!!

    2. That one species over many generational adaptations developed into a distinctly different species.

Evidence: In the fossil record, there is a single example ofwhat looks like a one species of mollusk developing into another species of Mollusk.
THAT IS IT! If any one knows another example please let me know.
    PROOF? Don’t be ridiculous.

Those who “believe” in Evolution have formed another religeon. Science deals with evidence, and theory.

bxgrl I don’t disagree with anything you said at 4:37.

That still doesn’t mean that the current best theories about the origins of life on Earth are fact.

It also doesn’t mean that we can say with any certainty whether or not there was any element of “design” in the development of life.

The first might be proven as more work is done.

I suspect the second will never be proven or disproven.

The two are not mutually exclusive, which what Epistomology is all about. Unless you can believe that the universe existed forever into the past, infinitely (don’t hurt your brain) then there had to be a Prime Mover or cause of cause.

Did a “god” snap his fingers at some point and cause the beginning of the universe or did it exist forever? Which is harder to believe? neither will ever be proven, one way or the other, which is why I stated earlier that I didn’t want to go back this far, just from the point of primordial soup to things approaching humans (BA students).
