  1. “Most people that want higher taxes want other people to pay higher taxes.”

Exactly etson. That’s my point. All those people screaming in Wisconsin should decide where the money is to come from.

If we as a society are not willing to pay higher taxes to sustain a certain level of services, why then, services have to be cut.

We can’t keep borrowing from tom’w for today. It’s unsustainable.

  2. “often think that the entire tax law needs to be revamped and that at least a PART of EVERY americans contribution into the pot should be dictated by that American in a check box per year.”

In practice that system would lead to direct plutocracy. Funding of the prgrams would depend on what the largest taxpayers in dollar terms preferred.

  3. “The more money you give to the government, the more ways they find to waste it. Giving money to the government is not an efficient way have money work efficiently.”

Giving money to people that need a safety net is not going to be efficient. But it’s something people should do.

  4. If anyone wants to pay higher taxes, they can. In all seriousness, the US Treasury accepts voluntary donations. They get a few hundred each year as I recall.
Most people that want higher taxes want other people to pay higher taxes.
