there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that, at all. why do you see that as problematic bxgirl? at least they aren’t ripping people off (i.e. people tend to not rip off their friends and family when they rent to them, tho i can’t say it works the other way around hahahah). there is nothing wrong with curtailing the moonface population. it’s nice to see that to some people their money is worthless!
They are all at lunch together, legion. I am sure on the way back, jackal is going to see some unsavory doings on the street somewhere and he will post about it.
bxgrl,
ha,
Queens is a vast, unexplored territory for most denizens of Brooklyn.
One major problem is getting around, there is simply no rhyme or reason to the street signs,
one minute you’re on 78th street, next 59th Avenue then
Francis Lewis Blvd.
It’s all memory, trial and error or GPS.
We may need a PLusa outing to the foreign lands of Queens! Place sounds great, legion. Although if I cook my own meal there should be a fire extinguisher close by.
bxgrl,
Queens is full of these ethnic communities elbowing their way to the top, more so than Brooklyn in my opinion. For example, along the A train, the branch that goes to Lefferts Boulevard ends in a very active and lively West Indian community. There are stores, clubs, restaurants all over the place there. I’ve mentioned in the past that the perhaps the best and largest Chinatown in New York is now in Flushing at the end of the 7 train.
A good friend of mine from high school who is Chinese and lives there has taken me out to some great restaurants there including a Hot Pot restaurant where you cook the meal yourself while watching programming on flat screen televisions at the table.
He owns a Chinese-Cuban restaurant on Roosevelt Ave.
Only in New York as they say.
legion- it’ll be great if those neighborhoods can avoid the tensions and conflicts other neighborhoods have experienced. I think when various groups live within one community and have little to no interest in interaction, it eventually leads to misunderstandings and tensions. I love mixed neighborhoods- I grew up in one- classic NYC. But then again,it’s great to go to Little Italy or Chinatown too.
At the republican lunch today, the word “nymphomaniac” came up.

Microsoft is getting pounded. How low can it go?

I think I’ve made a total of one trip to Queens that did not involve JFK or LGA.
