I think bank picks the title insurer. And, to answer a query, I’ve handled our refis myself but I always get RE attorney for actual purchases and sales. Too much wiggy shit and not my area of expertise. It’s good for negotiating strategy when the bs inevitably arises to have a lawyer in between you and the other side.
