Rob, I’m totally not advocating for guns here – just citing to “guns being fun†as part of the reason for their prevalence.

(1) small money here is still big money back home. These folks do this to thrive outside of the US.

I’m not very good at shooting(TWSS). Guns don’t really appeal to me.
Don’t have really strong opinions on the gun debate, other than that people seem to use gun control as an excuse not to address underlying issues with people’s behavior / mental health.

Etson, I have no HS degree, and obviously, I have a job. There are not enuf jobs at the entry level, and yes I mean burger flippers, delivery boys, cashiers, stock guys, shelf stockers, floor moppers, to pick up people who are in the hood who want to work.
But if you can’t ‘talk white’, dress proper, get a resume together, there are no jobs. Heaven help you if you have a record. There’s thousands of damaged kids in the hood and no jobs that they could do in the ‘service economy’. When I was a kid, they were equally damaged, but they could run a machine, drive a truck, work in the garment center.
Foxconn hired forty thousand people to assemble ipads. You think these kids in da hood couldn’t do the same work? Sure they could. But Foxconn ain’t here, they’re in China.
I’ve often thought about what I would do if I got laid off. I’ve spent much of the past few years hoping it would happen, which most people probably think it a really twisted thing to say, but it’s true.
