  1. I don’t have godparents. OTOH I’m not catholic. Isn’t having godparents kind of a catholic thing? (and apparently jewish too – didn’t know that)

I don’t have a middle name either. I would rather have a good middle name than godparents I suppose.

  2. Yes, it was really fun, Benson. I really thought I knew BayRidge but really saw a lot of things I never knew about (a full block monastery for one on 90th st), a house that looked like a gigantic stump of mushrooms, finally saw the Dyker Heights Golf course, the daytime remains of the Dyker Heights Christmas decorations…don’t think I have ever been to Bensonhurst before this, except maybe a ride through. Got recs for the best Mozzarela in Brooklyn….etc. Great restaurant and really fun running conversation between the three of us. Wonderful, thanks, Benson.

  3. Sorry. Just saw I’m in a different chapter from where the ol’ OT is right now. Flu, lollipops and lunch.

I only slogged through about 3 quarters of it before losing my mind and diving in to a comment.

    Carry on.

    (Hi CGar!)

  4. **And my godmother SCREAMED at me on the receiving line at my mother’s funeral for not calling or visiting her!!!

Yeah, that was really the right time and place, and after 38 years, it was sure to bring us closer together. Not!!!

  5. Absolutely nothing, donatella. I was never close to mine. They were my father’s first cousin and her husband. They were having trouble having kids, and my parents’ thinking was naming them my godparents would give them good luck. I got birthday cards from them for a few years when I was a little kid, but that’s about the extent of my relationship.
