This was a big storm but we all can thank our lucky stars that none of us needed an ambulance….what happens to one of these people on unplowed streets if they have a medical emergency. Something critical like a heart attack or stroke. SOL.
ishtar – I feel that anyone that attempted to drive at the height of the blizzard are obviously mentally deficient! including whoever at the MTA who told buses to keep continuing their routes! –
bowl of dicks: 3rd and 4th ave cleared yesterday. 5th ave was cleared overnight. People double parked cars on one side of ave. So there are only two lanes cleared on each ave. Major crossstreets (i.e. BayRidge blrd) are all clear. Some blocks still not cleared because people abandoned their cars. But I would give 75% of crossstreet are clear.
Today meters are not in effect so you probably will find place to part on ave.
Arkady, I am not sure I can make it home before dark but that would be ideal. Rf, that is very kind of you….I think that what I will do, though, is get put down some salt when I get home. I can get a small bag on the way home.
Dave, that had to be a pain in the butt going to your roof crack of dawn. Is it fixed now? I also tried to keep on top of it, shoveled a few times including midnight of the storm (which made vallies in the snow) but wanted to get to work yesterday AND today, so that is why it is a mess. Also I was sort of wasted from my car trip through the blizzard and my monkey act trying to get up on the roof myself.
DH, silly me. Almost everything here qualifies as a double entrendre….sometimes I forget. 🙂

IJ – but are you talking about the city?

That’s not a dumb question. I would be very surprised if UPS made residential deliveries today.

Gem, our UPS guy made his usual morning delivery so here’s hoping.
