Long Island didn’t get as much snow from what I heard, especially further east in Nassau on out. I heard from a co-worker coming in this morning that it’s still pretty bad along the border with Queens.
WOW – NYC should be ashamed of themselves!
Bloomie doing a press conference blaming the severity of the storm on the reason why so many streets are still uncleared!
I can’t recall the last time the city called for a Snow Emergency…. can anyone else?
Bloomberg’s press conference now. Said the biggest obstacle is towing cars, buses, ambulances stuck. They are offering bounties to private tow trucks. Also borrowing ambulances from NJ communities, and borrowing equipment from elsewhere.
Serious question: What are they going to do with all this snow once the plows really get going? They can’t just push up curbside. Do they normally have a truck that comes along to pick it all up?
UGH I hate how bloomberg then repeats everything in spanish – his spanish is AWFUL and he just butchers it!

Ishtar – in the city – many sanitation trucks dump the snow into the rivers – not sure about the boros – but they might do the same
I’ve never been to bay Ridge. Nor have i visited it on the Internet. i did see a few reataurants on that show “Breaking bread” with the priest.
PS – most of Long Island has been cleaned and cleared and continue to do so….
So what is the city’s problem?
In 1997 when they had the biggest snowfall ever, they trucked it away and dumped it in the sea.
