Lech, get yourself 1 of those units that can jump a car and also inflate tires – comes in super dandy. It was my go-to gift to lady friends and relatives
bfarwell, Do you really think the workers in Montreal clear the snow on the basis of “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need”?
I think it would have been a good idea last night to call a curfew to regular drivers to STAY off the roads from 7pm onward
why are idiots “tooling” around town in their cars looking at the storm damage – UGH!
I like NYE – even if you don’t do something “big,†you always have lasting memories from the night. it’s a day of the year that’s like a vacation in that sense.
“If you want to see real snow removal, go to Montreal. (I’m sure biff will agree)”
Ah, socialism at work. Once you figure out how to redistribute the wealth, redistributing snow is easy. Heh.
I agree that NYE is a fairly bogus holiday, never cared for it – a lot of build up to a nonevent, followed by feeling sort of aimless. Happily, got a call about shooting some party for Time Out, so will be working instead.
Sorry I am the biggest Bloomberg supporter around, but the cities handling of this storm has been a 100% failure.
I think there must have been some calculation (wrong) that because this was a holiday week, the full court press wasnt needed.
This has nothing to do with taxes or Manhattan vs Outer Boros, this is just a colossal management failure.
G10, what made those 3-4 experiences amazing. (I’m ready for my vicarious thrill now)

I’ve only had 3-4 amazing NYE’s – the rest of my NYE’s have either been nice or not what I expected!

I’ve never had good wine. Is it that much better?
