Benson, I think that’s a real possibility. Southern Brooklyn, here we come. I’d like to see Shore Rd in Bay Ridge, among other places, including historic Gravesend.
Rob, it’s not about chilling or not chilling. I need to pay a particular level of attention to my work in order to do what I do. You don’t just tell people you would rather relax and enjoy yourself and you’ll get back to them later. If you want to live life that way, join a union or become a municipal employee somewhere.

Oh the joys and convenience of living in wonderful park Slope.
i wouldnt live in park slope if i worked in midtown, but from where i am to work is literally 25-30 minutes door to door. the train itself is 17 minutes.
Would not drive at all. Would walk to Metro North and take train into city.
“Is westchester that much cheaper than manhattan?”
A lot cheaper. Higher taxes, but housing is WAAAAAY cheaper. I won’t use numbers cause it’t not all that relevant what price point I’m looking at but I would spend about 50% in W’chester of what I would have to pay in Park Slope for equivalent space.
“Couldn’t you just move closer to wherever you work?”
I suppose I could jam the family into some shitty coop on the Upper East Side, but then you would just read my obituary when I eat a .45 caliber sandwich from hating the UES so much.

cobble said it earlier.. youre gonna give yourself a f’ing heart attack. take that time to relax and do something enjoyable or just zone out. whenever i see someone “working” on their laptop on the train im either a.) tempted to throw it on the ground or b.) steal it and run.
but for reals… you need to chill. your commute is not that bad.
No, that was before I switched jobs 4 months ago. Now I take the F to the M. Or the G to either the E or the M. Or the F to the A to the E.
It’s really the transfer that does it. It’s just totally unpredictable. This morning I literally waited 15 minutes for an M at Rock Ctr. Most mornings it’s 3 to 5 minutes before the M pulls up.
If I can sit down in a reasonably comfortable seat and get 30 minutes or work done on the commute and have the whole thing be more predictable that’s worth a lot.
Slopefarm is right – I am definitely NOT a master of the universe. I’m at the level where you know how to do pretty much everything but you’re not really senior enough to tell other people to do it for you. I’ve got skillz but I’m not a baller.
