  1. Any sailors out there?

Across from Floyd Bennett Field is a marina on
Dead Horse Bay, part of Jamaica Bay.
In the Summer, the parks department has sailing classes there for something like $40 bucks.
You get to go out on four evenings for 2 hours.
It’s good for beginners or those who know how to sail and just want to get on the water.

  2. Biff, if this was a sucker’s bet, I would’ve bet already – ie wouldn’t give you chance to back out. coming into these 2 games, I was thinking Knicks would beat Celtics but lose to Heat as Heat is super similar squat but with way better defense. I’m still thinking this thru

  3. Biff, I think the new rinks at Prospect Park will be open next winter (hope so!). Maybe there? Did you check Chelsea Piers? I know that one of their 2 rinks is devoted to hockey, including adults, but don’t know if it’s just amateur stuff.

  4. hey biff,

yeah, they changed their name to the Brooklyn Aviators,
and they recently signed some agreement with an NHL team.
I don’t know of any other place in Brooklyn where pro leagues play.

  5. M4L’s scaring me. I know nothing about basketball and he knows a lot. And my gut tells me that any time he agrees to put up some money in a bet, it’s a sucker bet for the person on the other side.

  6. uhh,
just noticed that I forgot how to count
    backwards from 5 to 1.
    …well you know what I mean. :o(

    dibs,
true, technically that part of town is Bushwick.

    M4L,
I hear there’s some sort of giant rat that’s
    invading Florida.
So big, the cats are running scared.

  7. Legion, I was trying to find the Brooklyn Aces, the ice hockey team you mentioned here, but it seems they’re now defunct. I found a league that plays at Floyd Bennett Field and a roller hockey league that plays near Sheepshead Bay. That’s way out there for me. Do you know of any ice hockey team that plays somewhere more central than that in BK?
