  1. Noam Chomsky once complimented Bob Dole for calling out the “democrat wars” of the 20th century.

That said, Michael Moore tells truth to power. He also eats several concession stand items if you happpen to sit next to him in a movie theater.

  2. Legion- I think we can state that we had pressing reasons for going to war in WW I and II. With most wars we have fought (I say most, not all) we at least see some kind of imperative for doing so. But Iraq? There were none. We were fighting in Afghanistan, looking for bin Laden and bush veered off into Iraq, without imperatives or logic. And please tell me, what benefits did we get from the Vietnam War? 60,000 dead, and memorial and lot of screwed up guys who were mistreated when they came home?

  3. didnt world war II give us cheap housing loans and the notion that women should have to pull their weight (financially) in a marriage by getting jobs i.e. being a housewife was no longer looked at socially acceptable? hmm that last part might not make sense since the hey day of the housewife was what? the 50s and 60s? i guess if anything it made a mockery of that waste of a lifestyle.

  4. “why so, DH? Explain to me all the benefits we got out of Iraq.”

explain to me the benefits of rehashing the lack of benefits we didn’t get out of going to iraq on a weekly basis.
