There’s a major league pitcher with the Red Sox who
bought a few hundred acres in Western Mass.
To his surprise,
they found a huge deposit of prime Marble
beneath the land.
Estimates of a couple of hundred million worth. :o)
….I decided today to pay off my mortgage, and put the remaining principal on my HELOC. I have about 85% equity in my place, so the princiapal is not that large. I can afford any upswings in interest rates. As of today, I save more than 2.5% in interests costs by “going short” (i.e. HELOC).
CGar,
True,
They don’t call it the “Forgotten War”

…because of course, all President’s go into wars knowing the outcome.
Like
Woodrow Wilson (D)
FDR (D)
Kennedy (D)
LBJ (D)
Clinton (D)
just think of the benefits we got from WWI and Vietnam alone!
CGar- that wasn’t a fight. It was me expressing an opinion and getting piled on. A lovely experience.
In all seriousness, smart move, Lech. Ambitious and well thought out.

Editor’s Note: And I only mean “sided” in the sense that they thought benson was just joking.
