  1. bxgrl,

    You missed my over-arching point,
    which was:
To condemn Bush for Iraq is to condemn Wilson(D) for getting us into the mess of WWI in it’s last year and leading to something like 180,000 young American men to their deaths in Europe. With the dubious results of setting up Communist Russia, Nazi Germany and WWII.

Each and every President can be questioned on his decision making. Let’s not play Monday morning quarterback.
    In defense of Bush, I will tell you this;
it is definitely too early to see how the Iraq invasion works out.
For instance, it may remain a democratic state and an important ally in the future dealings with Iran.
Too early to condemn Bush, even if that toad Michael Moore
chooses to make movies without regard for fact or full perspective.

  2. Since my wife has lupus and is not physically strong, I wind up doing most of the heavy-duty cleaning. Example: windows (twice a year), cleaning kitchen cabinets (as needed) and refrigerator (twice a year).

Put a rag in Benson’s hand, and I’m dynamite.

    Cooking: I’m clueless.

  3. We got into a lot of wars for a lot of bad reasons under D and R presidents in our history. Gulf of Tompkin for Vietnam was almost as trumped up as the WMD charge against Iraq, as but one example.

But let’s stick to Iraq. On its own terms, I find Iraq war particularly problematic:

    1. WMD pretext was either epically bad intel or an entirely trumped up case. Lousy basis for attack either way.

    2. Diversion of resources from Afghan war, which had a more legitimate basis for initiation. Also had us engaged on two fronts at ocne which diminished the threat we could make in other trouble sopts.

    3. Truly awful planning and assumptions.

(3a. Yes, the surge worked. It was a much belated correction of the earlier fundamental planning error.)

    and

    4. It created a huge power vaccuum and rallying point for Iran to expand its power and influence in the region. One of the signature results of Bush foreign policy is the vastly greater role and power of Iran.

  4. Michael Moore = gigantic assaholic bufoon.

Michael Moore = nightmare to whatever side he aligns himself with.

100% agree with Benson. Michael Moore did more for the defenders of Bush and the Iraq war than Donald Rumsfeld.

  5. Now that Mrs C is back working full-time, household duties are pretty much split except for the clearly assigned split below:

    Me:
*pick up The Champs from after school program or sitter most nights.
*do all the laundry, vacuuming and bathroom cleaning

    Mrs C:
*drop off The Champs most days to school
*do all the grocery shopping and cooking (other than when I feed them at night)

That would explain why I’ve sped up the search for a housekeeper and will start using one come January.
