lech- I think Mrs. Lech has the situation well in control. The fact that you are too intimidated by her to request a return to a more traditional model says it all 😉
I meant to add to what I told rob, women loved working outside the home. When they were thrown out of jobs after the war, while there may have been a honeymoon period in the end of war afterglow, all the original problems were still there- the idea they weren’t pulling their own weight in a marriage, lack of respect for what they were doing, overlooking the contributions they were making to family and community. No wonder the women’s movement exploded in the 60’s.

When I come home at night I basically do housework and chores nonstop until I go to sleep. I walk in the door, take off my tie, and immediately start doing dishes.
“*do all the . . . vacuuming”
Translation = Broke the coffee table top while vacuuming so Mrs. C won’t want me to vacuum anymore.

I don’t have the energy to jump into this fray, but come on Legion, there was never an invasion that had the same level of resistance by the masses, world-wide, that Iraq did. There were millions and millions of people protesting (including me) and knowing it was unjust BEFORE it even started. That isn’t Monday morning quarterbacking. The people were lied to and many knew it at the time. It was a fiasco by any measure and I don’t see history treating it in any other way.

When I say “cleaning the refrigerator” I’m not talking about clearing out leftover food. I’m talking about tearing the insides apart (shelves, glass, etc.) and giving it a thorough cleaning.
After I get through, the refrigerator looks brand new.
Don’t doubt my cleanliness. I freely admit it (and my wife will gladly tell you): I’m a fanatic about it. Runs in my family.
Michael Moore is the liberal equivalent of Glenn Beck. Apart from which side they fight for there is basically no difference. Neither is all that smart of makes really coherent arguments about anything. They both excel at getting people who already completely agree with them super worked up about stuff. And they’re both useless fat pieces of human garbage.
