  1. ” the sifting of intelligence was really a function of the the overwhelming neocon political goal of removing Saddam Hussein and inserting the United States strategically into the region. ”

    Donatella;

    When Bill Clinton was the President of the United States, he signed into law HR 4655, the Iraq Liberation Act. Here is the law:

    Allow me to quote the beginning summary:

    “Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 – Declares that it should be the policy of the United States to seek to remove the Saddam Hussein regime from power in Iraq and to replace it with a democratic government.”

  2. Lechacal- so your mom was Superwoman? Jeez- that has got to be hard to live with 😉

    In January of 2002, Bush declared he no longer really cared where Bin Laden was. I need to know why. I need to know why the Navy men I met told me in January of 2002 they were going to attack Iraq, without doubt. And I need to know why Bush Jr. ignored every piece of diplomatic and foreign policy intelligence and information his father (a much smarter man) told him.

  3. I will say however that since we were in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq I, Afghanistan and Iraq II, someone has to re-learn that the use of atomic bombs or at least something beyond conventional arms might be warranted if we actually want to win any of these wars.

  4. Neither of my grandmothers worked. My mom worked though. Had five kids, went through med school while she had 3 kids (used to take me to med school classes on her back in a baby backpack). She was pretty hard core about trying to do it all, and not in the New York “I’ll have a career and then have a kid when I’m 70” way; I mean she did it all at the same time. She’s basically loony tunes in a lot of other ways (way too smart, no ability to relate to other humans, no sense of empathy whatsoever), but she did a good job being a mom to young kids while putting herself through med school and residency.
