  1. Companies have to see some visibility of demand rising before they will commit to more spending/hiring. That will only come if consumers loosen the purse strings which certainly WILL NOT happen if taxes go up Jan 1

I’m thinking it won’t matter. So many people are so far behind financially that they don’t have the financial capacity to spend beyond what they need.

  2. quote:
That’s why we have some of the worst social services of highly developed countries. We already tell a pretty good percentage of the population that they’ll get the worst of everything (education, healthcare, housing, etc.) if they can’t provide it for themselves. Unfortunately over half of these people are children. Womp. Womp.

    that is total bullshit

  3. “Bank of America Corp.’s agreement to pay $137 million in restitution for taking part in a nationwide bid-rigging conspiracy for municipal-investment contracts may soon be followed by more settlements to repay the scheme’s victims” –
you gotta love the honesty and integrity of our corporate capitalistic system.

  4. it’s so funny how middle and upper middle class people get so jealous of the wealthy. most poor people just dont give a crap about the rich. most poor people KNOW they benefit from the rich.
