I hark back to the old school of warddrobe/clothing.
My wardrobe is shockingly small. This is how I save money. However, when I buy clothing, I will pay extra for the quality. I agree with what Ishtar said above: quality clothing lasts a long time, with proper care. I am convinced that this is the most cost-effective way to dress (and look good at the same time).
More4less – does your family do the pricing version of Name That Tune? It goes like this: Family member 1 I bought these shorts for 12 bucks can you believe it? Family member 2 Ha, I saw the same shorts in X store, I can get them for 9. Family Member 3 Ha, you both shop in a fancy department store?, I saw the same ones in Odd Lot for 7. And it goes on…
NYS has started charging sales tax on all articles of clothing. NYC still exempts sales tax for clothing under $100. Hence, net effect is reduced tax rate.
I only will wear one shirt with a name on it, my long-sleeve striped Faconnable shirt, which I love. Most riff raff don’t know what Faconnable is anyway.
So the Mrs and I went to a korean spa on Friday night and got the skin scrub treatment. HOLY CRAP. First you do a sauna, steam bath, hot tub combo. Loosens up the skin real good. Then you basically strip and some old korean lady puts on these abrasive mitts and GOES TO TOWN on your skin for half an hour. I’m pretty sure I lost a couple of pounds of skin. Gross, I know, but wow it sure is refreshing.
Serious question though: what happens in that situation if a dude pops a woodie? I didn’t, just to be clear.

If the dude wasn’t as old as the “old Korean lady”, I’d be very concerned about popping a woodie over her.

“Total amount spent including tax: $133.57.
Is it machine washable?”
Dona, that isn’t what’s meant by laundering money.
They must have revoked the no tax deal on clothes then.
