  1. Yeah but CGar, your eyes are closed the whole time and it’s super relaxing. And they dump all this warm water over you and there is this asian relax-o-music going on, and then they stop and lotion you up and stuff. And if your eyes are closed who knows, maybe you’re imagining some hottie instead of an old korean lady (and when I say old I don’t mean really old, more like cougar age). I’m just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if every once in a while some guy pops wood. They must have some sort of contingency to deal with that kind of thing. Do they pretend it’s not there? Do they put on an extra towel?

  2. Benson, that seems to be the way they do it in Italy too. I have an Italian friend who buys very high quality clothes but doesn’t have a lot of them. She told me she has 7 pairs of shoes.

7 PAIRS OF SHOES? THERE AREN’T MANY WOMEN WHO CAN SAY THIS!!!!

    I have multiples of that.

  3. “CGar, look at Thursday’s OT.”

prezanon, the polite thing to do is post a link, and point out the time and log-in name of the poster who initiated the Christmas Tree lights discussion. I’d do no less for you. jussayin.

Why DO we have Christmas lights prezanon???

CGar, look at Thursday’s OT. lechacal asks slopefarm what exactly is Hannukah. Then Slopefarm gives an historical explanation of Hannukah, involving the miracle of oil for one night that lasted for eight nights. Okay, I cannot explain all of this so check OT:

prez’s is where I stumbled into what DH had already said.

Okay, slopefarm, I just read (4:22) that you didn’t mention lights, only lamps. DH and I must have put together the lamps with the use of lights, which in any case would be as you say, a usage by Christianity from Judaism (I think). I don’t know these things, but I much liked your historical description as did others here. And I do think it likely that Christianity got its Christmas tree lights from the Jewish tradition, yet maybe lights could come from other traditions as well.

Ask Billy Graham or Dibs, 4:24 PM.
