“The Brooklyn Paper (owned by Murdoch) is the only one that panned AY & they did it while it was still in previews – trying to kill it before it opened.”
They’re doing a piece on it, on WNYC, in a few minutes.
I’m working on that now Slopefarm. I’ve narrowed it down to a 37″ that also doubles a computer monitor. The most reasonable brankd I’ve found so far is the Vizio, but the reviews on that TV as far as longevity are terrible.
I pretty much have everything else you listed ready to go as soon as I get a new TV. I did NOT invest in a digital converter because I figured that was a few extra $ toward a TV. I’m a total cheapo.
did that Apple TV Platform ever pan out? slope, that could be a possibility.. im sure there are other ways tho. cant you just set up a computer to a new tv, they have all the inputs to put your computer on it..
speaking of de-gentrification, I was walking down 5th Ave around 18th Street (Manhattan) today, and a completely normal looking white woman comes up behind me and says ‘excuse me’, so I think she’s gonna ask for directions, and she says, can you spare a dollar, I need to get on the subway. I said, I’ll be happy to swipe you in. She says, but it’s a couple of blocks away. I say, no problem, I’m going in that direction. And she says, but I need money for coffee too.
