  1. Dona,
They have kept drilling for four reasons: a) most had some hedges this year so their CF was better than price implied, b) to hold land, c) because some plays can make decent economics on liquids alone so gas is a byproduct, and d) because JV’s have lowered the costs of the established operators (and some require a certain level of drilling).
The first two of those four – hedges and drilling to hold land become much less significant next year. The other two will still be factors.

  2. haha, bxgrl, you are right – those people had no clue what they were dealing with but that was the fun of it. That’s why those characters are always trying to lure people into the OT who have no clue. Fresh victims.

  3. I was in there under an alias, Bxgrl. It was fun but I got in there too late. Lechacal and Dave where quite a team. It was pretty funny.

Etson, we are supposed to have a La Nina winter it seems, really cold, and we are getting a blast of really cold weather on the east coast next week, so the futures markets are off after the report but not by much.

Do you think that the shale gas operators will stop with new operations next year? Why should they keep up with starting new ones when the price is too low…is that the idea?
