when one aint weathy and it took tons of sacrifices to save the 200k, I damn well is going to have the right to not fund a 200k tuition for a fluff major at some uber expensive college.
yeah but some people can major in what you consider “fluff” and go on and do good things with it. what if he had the passion to to become a music teacher or a social worker? are you going to insist he major in nuclear physics? there’s really no such thing as a fluff major, just fluff brains.
Dona- you mised it- it was an interesting thread to say the least. Especially the idea that dave and Lechacal aer one and the same. those poor people haven’t got a clue.
im reading about the proposal to extend the 7 train into jersey and i saw this comment. can someone explain this to me?
“The reason why has to do with legal technicalities. If you extended the subway across a border, it would no longer be considered an ‘urban transportation system’ as it is now, and legally become a railroad–and suddenly fall under Federal guidelines. You may be sure that MTA does not want this to happen, for many reasons (having to pay its employees under Federal scale being just one).
Therefore, no matter how many times people suggest extending the subway into New Jersey, you can rest easy in the knowledge that it’s not happening. (Unless hell freezes over first, and I didn’t hear anything about that on the weather report this morning!)”
Rob, if my boy wants me to give him 200k for a fluff major, he on his own. I wouldn’t talk him out of that major but I aint backing him with the 200k. if he takes that fluff major where it cost say 50k, yeah, would pay for it. if I become weathy and 200k is peanuts, I would pay for it. when one aint weathy and it took tons of sacrifices to save the 200k, I damn well is going to have the right to not fund a 200k tuition for a fluff major at some uber expensive college.

Not sure, rob. I doubt NJ Transit and SEPTA are “under federal guidelines,” but I’m not sure.
Earthlink is down. Crap.

Yes dona. Guess everything’s weather dependant for the next couple of months.
Fundamentally I think things should start to turn mid next year.
The squirrels in Fulton Park are quite bold. I imagine that people who spend time there feed them.
I was cornered by a squirrel on our porch when I was about 2 years old.
I’m still a buyer of natural gas stocks and LPs.
That’s why we’ve been buying FEEC
