We had problems with squirrels in the roof when I was a kid. Tried various ‘humane’ methods of getting rid, then hired a couple of guys to shoot them with an air rifle, which wasn’t that effective. Only got rid of them when we poisoned them.
Dona -who knew? I mean I still get excited when I see a chipmunk in Prospect Park. I guess I don’t imagine real wild life in NYC…
Jeez, Gem. I don’t know when I started hating wild animals. I guess when they started invading my house. Someday when I have time, I will tell you about the
f%@King squirrel which came for a 2 day visit and left me with a $2,000 bill. I hate squirrels, I hate mice, I hate chipmunks. I want to have a squirrel stuffed, put on a plaque and have it hung in my living room.
Gem,
Someday I will tell you the whole squirrel story. It doesn’t make sense to give it short shrift. It is just too incredible.
Etson, second week of record high natural gas stocks in US.

Oh, regarding wildlife in Brooklyn, I saw a slug yesterday on my neighbor’s steps which was as big as a garden snake, slurbing along. HUGE.
