  1. $900,000 is a fair price for 107 Gates if:
    a. The renovation plans were filed with the DOB.

90% of rehabbed brownstones in brooklyn were not filed. If that’s the primary issue, you will no be satisfied with any house in your price range.

If the work is done to code but not filed…that’s about as best you will get.

if the work was done shodilly and not to code, that’s a whole different story.

But you will not find a house in that price range where the work was filed.

  2. Sarah Palin has managed to stay relevant when most people thought she would fade into obscurity. Like her or not, that was an accomplishment.
If she ever runs for president, she will have to step up her game considerably, but that is not at all unusual for presidential hopefuls.

typical, dave. I call Palin a terrorist and you get personal. So typical of you.

Ummm, where exactly did I get personal. Calling people terrorists is the same as calling people Nazis. It’s the same low-level, i can’t think of a more intelligent criticism approach.

If you can’t criticize hem for what they actually stand for, and can only resort to calling hem terrorists then it’s time for you to leave and go vote.

    God help this country.

  4. I am not doing a pile on on you Bxgrl, but I also think it is important to be more nuanced about Sarah Palin. She is part of an anti-intellectual, populist tradition in this country; her popularity is enhanced by personal charisma, good looks and a preternatural ability to plug into a strain of dissatisfaction in this country. I think she shows a lack of curiosity about the world, interest or expertise of any kind about policy, interest in governing, or ability to be a real politician, i.e. get things done in the real world. She is my worst nightmare as a politician but we need to be careful in the way we talk about her lest we enable the kind of backlash off which she feeds.

  5. “(except for the violent attacks). ”

But that’s it. Terrorist = violent attacks, or direct support thereof.
I don’t see how belief in the concept of end times has anything to do with it.
