Seriously, good word Dona.
$900,000 is a fair price for 107 Gates if:
a. The renovation plans were filed with the DOB.
b. There is not an oil tank buried in the yard.
c. If they added support to support the building when they removed the parlor level wall.
Etson- I don’t think it is- same religious fervor, same slogan-based thinking, same extreme views (except for the violent attacks). All are willing to run roughshod over anyone and anything that gets in their way.And please don’t expect me to think someone who believes in end times is any different than those clowns who blow themselves up for virgins in heaven. Think they’re so different? That religious mindset has very bad connotations for freedom in this country. Terrorism comes in a lot of flavors. That’s how I see it. So does Palin get a pass from you for trying to associate Obama with terrorists?
Also the media is already talking about this election as some sort of sea change. It isn’t. Just a different tilt in a closely divided electorate.
I remember 2004 and then 2008 being hailed as permanent victories for the right and left respectively when of course neither has turned out that way. Everyone ignored that the winning candidate got only slightly above 50% in each. Will be the same this year. Think 2012 will be closely contested unless the Republicans select a fringe candidate as the nominee.

“Psephology” is from the Greek word “psÄ“phos,” meaning “pebble.” (One relative of “psephology” is “psephomancy,” meaning “divination by pebbles.”) “Psephology” merited election as the name for the work of analysts of elections, or psephologists, because pebbles were used by the ancient Greeks in voting. Similarly, the word “ballot” was an excellent choice for a means of voting since it is derived from “balla,” the Italian word for “ball,” and Italians placed balls in a container to cast votes.
typical, dave. I call Palin a terrorist and you get personal. So typical of you.
As a matter of fact- just because I don’t agree with your [politics, doesn’t mean I don’t think just as carefully or as far ahead as you seem to think you do. And that’s how you approach everything political here. If someone doesn’t agree with your views, they’re morons or their ideas are worthless. So I’ll say it again- grow up. And this time I am not kidding.
etson- what’s the media without hype? What you said is very true.

I’d like the teabags to get in – spoilers for the more reasonable people & alienation when they wield power irresponsibly.
