babs,
uhh,
was that before or after they banned the burkas?
or closer to when non-integrated, second generation sons of immigrants were rioting in the streets
of the Parisian suburbs for lack of a place in French society.
…but, now I’m getting confused with the rioting
due to failure of the French pension system…..
over -generalizations…..
Almost any politician of any sex and party gets called lots of names -especially in the modern era. So do get all huffy that republicans can’t run a woman who is picked in is silly.
Look at the demonization of Pelosi.
I don’t think the 2 female republican senators from Maine are considered dopes or idiots.
But you make too big a deal of Palin and her detractors. Not only democrats that find her a joke but plenty of republicans do also.. She is a pop culture candidate. Not a serious one. Not a leader.
Palin is smart. Most of you hate what she stands for, you hate the folksy routine, the polulism, the playing to the lowest common denominator, but she’s smart. For those of you who point over and over to press clips where she has said dumb things, I would like to see you on national Television someday. I doubt you would fare better.
As several reasonable posters have pointed out, calling her names gets you nowhere. The only thing it might accomplish is to push even more people to vote for her in reaction to the insufferable self-styled “intellectuals” in places like Brooklyn whose best argument is to call a smart lady dumb, as if that will turn the world against her.
Glad you’re disgusted. I hope all the libs are. You had huge majorities in Congress and the Presidency. You got your socialized heatlhcare! But you ignored us stupid rubes. And now you shall go. You have been rejected. FAIL.
Legion, ok, that’s like saying there will never be liberal Democratic support for Conservative Republican candidates. And regarding calling people/women stupid or whoreish, you have my full agreement that that is unacceptable – on both sides of the political divide and on the OT too, by the way (though you of course are always respectful). And regarding the Republican Hispanic woman, God bless her and I hope she does a good job for the state.
Democrats are crony capitalists, which is kind of fascism light; actually that’s what goes on in France. If you’re a big company, you’re half-way merged with government. If you’re an entrepreneur? SOL.
France is becoming a sewer due to socialism and the loss of people whose life has any meaning. Vacations uber alles! Spoiled little children who have fewer and fewer children, don’t give to charity, don’t take care of their parents, and don’t care about the future.
“Gritting teeth, resisting urge to respond, remind self how pointless it is….”
The battle may be lost, Arkady. If dumbing it all down is what “we, the people” want, then maybe that’s what “we the people” will get, and perhaps what we deserve.
I’m disgusted, perhaps more than I’ve ever been here.
can we move beyond the partisan shit already? both parties fucked up and both are to be blamed.

All I can think about today is sex. I’m like 16 all over again. This election is not enagaging my thoughts at all.
dittoburg, I feel myself slowing falling in love with you…

France, and the rest of Europe is dying.
