French education tends to be very vocational, and politics is one of the vocations! A lot of the top civil servants & politicians went to one university, a lot of the top businessmen to another, top engineers to a separate one etc.
There’s no actual requirement to have done so in order to hold political office though.
Sarkozy attended the political university but did not graduate.
“Perhaps it is time to send our French-speaking elitist OT pres over there for talks with Sarkozy to straighten things out.”
I would have loved to, but I already have previously planned trips to Korea, Japan, China and Thailand during which time I am hoping to straighten things out.
Ditto you need to just close your door and rub one out. You’ll get nothing accomplished today if you don’t do this.
Alternatively, don’t you work in the general area of the Friday lunch crew? I think DIBS has some recommendations for where you could obtain rapid relief.
I think this round of strikes kind of is, but maybe they just need a rest. Grêves are fun as long as you’re living in France as a kind of EuroDisney youth experience from which you can, or will, eventually flee for little old USA.
Oh, and furthermore, CGar, I have been concerned about you and wondering if a para-military intervention with Cruella might be called for (i.e. Xena) but I sit by my Dell computer and my cell phone, waiting, waiting, waiting, for you to tell me what is going on with you (as you SAID you would) and what do I hear for weeks and weeks on end??????

“EXCUSE me, CGar. It is YOU who is the promiscous one.
And there is nothing floozie-ish about falling in love.”
1. I have a double standard.
B. I expect much better from you than I do from myself.
Third, I’m a guy. Guys are expected to be two-timers. Ladies such as yourself are not.

“can we move beyond the partisan shit already? both parties fucked up and both are to be blamed.”
Yep. Totally agree with m4l.
It took you an awful long time to reconstruct what you now want us to think you meant ringo.
