  1. Another thing about France, are the riots and strikes over with yet? Perhaps it is time to send our French-speaking elitist OT pres over there for talks with Sarkozy to straighten things out. I’d like to make a trip and hope the airlines are going again.

“dittoburg, I feel myself slowing falling in love with you…”

donatella, you two-timing floozie, you and I are done.

EXCUSE me, CGar. It is YOU who is the promiscous one.
And there is nothing floozie-ish about falling in love.

  3. Benson, and Etson, yes, the terminology is confusing, but the big government/small government divide is probably the least confusing. Fascism is considered “right,” even though the fascists were socialists. Roosevelt wasn’t considered a fascist, yet he kinda was (as was Woodrow Wilson).

Mark Levin calls them statists. Jonah Goldberg calls them liberal fascists.

  4. The point is legion that Sarah Palin won’t get a lot of support from the center of the spectrum either. And as for “enemies” some of the things that Obama has been called this political season make the word enemy look like a compliment.

  5. Lech, I’ll reply since you called me a dumbass. When I addressed you and then moved on to “others on this board” the quote that followed “others” was from another. I didn’t think it was that hard to follow, but see now how *you* might have trouble.

Your thing about how liberal women are threatened by Palin really stands on its own as being moronic and sexist.

Also, that whole “fail” thing is over now.

  6. About France, do they not have a strict line of educational achievement to follow before attaining offices of any kind?
As in, a populist person from nowhere cannot suddenly appear and go to the top of the ladder.

The *American Dream* is that anyone can come here and achieve anything — such as the invention of the safety pin and become a millionaire. In France, one has a regimented educational path to follow. The Brits on this OT or Babs would be able to explain this better than I.
