  1. DIBS — did you have any kind of catholic instruction growing up?

Certainly. I went to catholic grade school, high school and college. The latter required two couses in religious studies…any religious studies.

  2. Weekend was good IJ. I got stuck in town working so I couldn’t go to DC after all. Wife was out of town and mother in law was here to help with the kids. So I had carte blanche to go out Sat night, which I did, and proceeded to destroy my brain with way way way way too much vodka and techno dancing at the Bell House. Epically awful hangover yesterday. Surely I’m too old to be doing that sort of thing any more.

  3. “Do all of you have to go to hebrew school???”

All of YOU??? You goys are always persecuting the Jews.

My parents made me. It’s not uncommon for Conservative and Reform Jews to force their kids to go to Hebrew School through their Bar / Bat Mitzvahs. (“Today I am a Cross pen.”)

  4. Evil slumlord is in the kitchen heating up the cauldron and trying to find the bag of spider penises she bought over the weekend. For a special curse, or so she says. I’d be looking over my shoulder if I were you (she mentioned something about wanting a house on St. Mark’s)

  5. “What I wouldn’t do THEN not to go to school. Or at least Hebrew School.”

“Do all of you have to go to hebrew school??? i didn’t have to go to Gaelic or Scottish.”

Used to piss me off in elementary that the catholic kids got to leave half an hour early on Tuesdays for “religion.” Off they went to Sacred Heart for some class room time with the nuns. Meanwhile, I had to complete my day in elementary school and THEN go to Hebrew school.
