well, that’s the difference btw me and you… my parents bounced checks all the time, never had a red cent (but had a Saks charge card), and were too smart to do things like invest money in stock market or property cuz they ‘grew up in the depression’.
Some people become what they grew up in, some people rise above and figure a better way.
ask any dry cleaner why they charge more for womens clothes that weigh the same, and they will tell you that women complain more and threaten to sue more about their clothing than men do. i dont think it’s wrong to charge more for the added hassle. well inherently it kinda sorta is, but i understand where they are coming from.

Not true at all. I can tell you that some of my worst managers have been engineers who never learn the distinction between being an engineer, and being a manager. One of the best managers I ever had was a commercial guy.
Currently I am doing some work with GE’s Central R&D Lab. In that organization, they make a point of having business-development types run the R&D labs.
“Think it’s any different in the private sector? ” — yes, somewhat — teaching in P.S. with helicoptor parents you have like 30 bosses with all different opinions. Most stupid. They also like to run condo boards.
