My mother always says her grandmother’s family were black Irish. Believe it or not my grandmother and a couple of her brothers had very thick dark hair and quite dark skin.
Her mother came over from Ireland in the late 19th Century. That’s the only Irish I have. My pastiness is all English & Scottish in origin.
dibs-ha, point proven . I think it’s more of a case of the Irish won’t change rather than talk – far as I know most Irish LOVE to ramble and talk and talk and talk
gemini — I saw a cartoon once of the “Unhappiest Man in New York.” He had an Irish psychoanalyst (“[gesticulating] So Paddy, I says to myself, Paddy . . . “) and a Jewish bartender (“Drinking, what’s with all the drinking? Better you have a glass of milk instead.”)
I just remember feeling so bad for both at the time b/c I saw these 2 very successful black people fighting for their own truth to be recognized as the “real truth” in front of a bunch of stuffy old white men who were probably laughing at this whole situation behind closed doors and here we are – the nation watching this trial about sexual harrassment on TV
at the end of the day I did believe Anita
According to Freud the Irish are impervious to therapy – discuss!
Definitely true. Primarily because they won’t actually talk about anything.
I’ve always said that i should go into therapy for my sex addiction but why??? I don’t want to change and I don’t think some jackass therapist can talk me into anything I don’t really want to do or don’t think i ought to do.
“Ginni, the ‘proud’ Nebraskan, is a fan of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin and Laura Ingraham and other talk radio hosts. She is intrigued by Glenn Beck and listening carefully. She also enjoys motor homing and watching “24″.”
Slopey – For me: ..a land where even the old are fair.
I think Mrs. Thos has alzheimer’s – it’s why she’s been so shrill shilling for the Tea Baggers too. And, yes, girl in the Freudian slip, “with” not “to” my husband.
I was in high school as well when this happened. But I was that nerd with a subscription to Reader’s Digest and US News & World Report instead of Cosmo and Tiger Beat!

LOL @ Tiger Beat. Worst mag ever. I’ve always loved Readers Digest. I’ve been thinkging about resubscribing to it.
I was uhm…in middle school when all this happened, but my parents monopolized the TV so I was forced to watch it.

From Ginni’s own bio on Libertycentral.org…
