We’ve gottten to know the owner and the sushi chefs (always sit at the bar) at Oshima pretty well and they take really good care of us (free stuff!!!!) so I’d only switch my aegiances if Taro were truly excellent. Truly excellent needs to include really great Chu Toro on the order of what you get in manhattan places instead of the Brooklyn Toro letdown!!!!!!!
I rented a car like that in LA once — got an awful lot of strange comments in West Hollywood when I unwittingly drove through there during “cruising” time.
“the refined sugar that is created from them both (and that goes into Mexican coca cola) molecularly is the same. BUT very different from High Fructose Corn Syrup.”
So now we have three viewpoints!
To clarify mine: Some sugar is worse (sweeter) than others, but it’s all bad for you. Naturally, I can’t go a day without some.
DIBS, I got a takeout menu on my door for a restaurant called Haru Sushi at 385 Flatbush. And another one called Pacific Ocean House Sushi at 84 Manhattan Ave. Both pretty far but they deliver to us, maybe to you too? Haru has a companion menu called Yummy Thai guaranteeing of course that they are Fujianese Chinese.
Yes, Lech, made it back just fine, thanks — walked back with Mopar, who works nearby. No, Dibs, I haven’t been to Taro Sushi yet. It sounds wonderful and I want to go. I wonder why they won’t allow BYOB. That doesn’t make sense.
Natural sweetners are not the same as sugar. 100% fruit juice is the best example.

Yes, rf, I’ve gotten them on my door as well. Not sure if they are any good.
dona, I think it’s actually the law. Others that allow BYOB before getting license (Saraghina, Peaches Hot House) just ignore the law.
Is there an actual legal BYOB designation in NYS??? Not sure. there are lots of really great BYOBs in Philly.
