Sugar is not bad for you. I believe that dibs’ distinction is that there is sugar that occurs naturally in foods and then there are added sugars. All foods are eventually broken down in usuable sugars. The question is how fast. One distinction that is helpful and is used by diabetics and weightwatchers and people who want to keep their blood sugar stable is the glycemic index, which measures the speed of the body’s metabolism of different foods and their breakdown into simple sugars. The more processed foods with the least fiber, the quicker the breakdown and the more of a challenge to the pancreas and the secretion of insulin. You want to stay away from simple carbohydrates with natural fibers removed which is like mainlining sugar, i.e. twinkies.
“Actually we covered a lot of subjects at lunch: ….cobble, ”

Brussel sprouts are DELICIOUS. Particularly when steamed and drizzled with garlic butter. Yum 🙂
