  1. so is Christie’s block of the new train tunnel to manhattan a bad thing because in short run big boost to economy with construction, jobs, etc and long run infrastructure improvement…
or a good thing as help keep NJ people away from NYC?

  2. cgar she might be discriminating against you because youre gay and maybe because youre vertically challenged? both groups are often targets for abuse in the corporate world.

please dont jump off a bridge tho cuz of it.

  3. “Now our building has NO PETS policy. Being a member of the board, should I send a nice casual email to the broker saying that they are wrong and they should remove it from the ad? What do you think?”

Kens, although I can’t stand your Brooklyn Heights co-op for its no pets policy, yes, that’s exactly what I would do. You have to let people know that no pets are allowed. I wouldn’t have wasted time looking at 76 Remsen last week had the broker said “no pets” in the listing.

  4. Malicious obedience, while a genius tact on some levels, is also passive aggressive in nature and might well lead to an escalation of the unpleasantness between you two Cgar. I am sure you have tried but is there any sense to a complete air clearing convo–something along the lines of “you don’t like me, I don’t like you…why don’t we figure out a way to have me transferred to a different part of the firm” kind of thing.

  5. BEIJING — Liu Xiaobo, an impassioned literary critic, political essayist and democracy advocate repeatedly jailed by the Chinese government for his writings, has won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of “his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China.”

Mr. Liu, 54, perhaps China’s best-known dissident, is currently serving an 11-year term on subversion charges.

He is the first Chinese citizen to win the Peace Prize and one of three people to have received it while incarcerated.
