  1. What areas would that be? Companies are sitting on stacks of cash and NOT hiring. Do we expect the government to hire people?

I agree. I certainly understand the frustration and anger of everyone, not just Tea Party people, in terms of unemployment. I’m in that same boat. There still is nothing out there in my field, and outside of my field, I can’t even get an interview for jobs I could easily do.

I think much more could have been demanded of the financial sector after we bailed them out, but both parties caved. Big money is now making big money again, and sitting on it, as ishtar said.

Just as a small example, I have had my bank account with a major TARP recipient for over 30 years. They just halved my checking overdraft, because of the downgrade of my finances. I was not overdrawn, I rarely dip into it, and when I do, I pay it back immediately. But I need it, because now I am paid by freelance clients, and sometimes my checks don’t clear fast enough. (which is another issue, since banking is computerized, and checks from California can clear as fast as checks from Canarsie, but I digress.) So my taxes can pay for THEIR bailout, but they can’t extend me a perk that I have never abused?

And banks can now charge up to almost 30% interest for credit cards? Talk about taking your money with one hand while stabbing you in the back with the other.

  2. Lechacal, are you ever fearful that if both you and I go to lunch and leave the left wing liberals here in charge that we’ll come back and they will have ruined the world as we know it????

  3. Mrs C and I saw The Social Network last night. We both enjoyed it very much. Rob, I’m not sure why you didn’t like it; I thought it was wonderfully directed, captivating and intelligently scripted.

  4. my “work wives”

There’s MORE than the ones I listed yesterday?!?!?
You really don’t stop, do you?

“(yes, yes, my behavior is the same off the OT)”
OH BOY! You in troooouble now!

  5. CGar, Donatella is correct that you should document all the crap from her. that folder of evidence is killer. whip it out when needed and it’ll back her the fuck off. one thing she realizes is that the higher your level, the harder it is to find a comparable job elsewhere so if push comes to shove, she’ll blink first cause she knows if this got real personal & ugly, she’ll be sued, along with the boss and there’s no way she wont be forced out herself

  6. “What areas would that be? Companies are sitting on stacks of cash and NOT hiring. Do we expect the government to hire people?”

The current problem is that employers are fearful and unable to understand what’s in sotore for them coming from an incessant amount of new government regulations.

Uncertainty is the primary cause for the lack of job creation.

See this wrt the healthcare bill…this is real live problems…..

“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, March 9, 2010.
