  1. The small and midsize firms are the ones hurt most by increased gov’t regs. In fact, they cannot even afford to hire the people to advise them on the regs.

With this nutjob as head of EPA, it has gotten really bad.

  2. snappy, that’s pure genius. I need to add that to my playbook. But I would do that AFTER I’ve got enough material in the folder already then use your move to scare the shit out of her without whipping folder out.

  3. dont look to large MNC firms to hire a ton of folks. they have the scale and infrastructure to be pretty efficient. they can also hire outside of US. they can buy another firm and optimize/synergy it (ie cut more costs) to plug any gap in their biz.

if we’re to see sizeable hiring, it has to be via new firms, small to mid size firms. pay would not be as big as a large firm but when it’s a choice of working or not, stop bitching and just take the gig. Gov needs to plow all efforts to this space and ignore the big firms.

  4. Yes, CGar…just before it gets to the paoint that she may fire you, come into work wearing 5 earings and organize the “gay and lesbians of XXX Corp”

A friend of mine at GSK did this right before he knew his whole group would be downsized and he lasted another 4 years and then got a great package.

  5. Hmmm…I may have to take the train to midtown next week and break up this republican boy’s lunch club 🙂

Cargar, 🙁 I could throttle her for you. Everytime she says something inappropriate like cracks about what you eat, let her clearly see you write it down, word for word along with the time, date and the names of people standing nearby. Now you don’t actually need to *do* anything with this list, just let her see you doing it. That oughtta scare the living shit out of her.
