It’s a big deal to you, and to black people in the US. Not to much of the world.
actually you can look up youtube videos of people from literally ALL over the WORLD cheering in huge crowds when he got elected.. i think it was actually pretty big for the world.. but you would have to think america is important or something to the world. i dont know, but on that fact i agree with MM.
Etson- You may not agree with MM, but no need to get offensive about it.You obviously don’t like Obama- but you let your political stance color your perceptions- much more so than MM does.
“In case you missed it in history class,
we had to teach them about Democracy.
I don’t look to Europe for answers,
I look to Europe as a guide on what to avoid.”
I’m sure most Europeans are still trying to catch up to the American lobbying-corporation-ocracy model of democracy. How many times do those European numbskulls have to be taught?
“But it’s been literally terrifying for me for 21 months. ”
OMG! That’s a really long time to be out of work, especially for someone accustomed to having gainful employment.
I have a friend who is about to lose her home because she has not been able to find a job. The only entitlement she gets is about $90 in EBT every month. She knows she can’t save her house so she has been cleaning homes, running errands, and what every misc things she can find just to keep her cell phone on (call for job interviews) and keep ConEd and Keyspan on. I’ve never seen her so broken in the years that I’ve known her.

“It’s not an attitude, cobble. You seem to be fighting your own perception of reality.”
BAH HA HA HA HA HA!
I’m not dissing the whole program of unemployment, food stamps or welfare. They are a necessity in a civilized society.
I’m saying that they have grown to such a large unwieldy mess that they are full of abuses and the management by the government is to blame.
folks, give up, surrender. As Warren Buffet said:
“There’s class warfare, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.â€
