  1. Lech:
I think the difference btwn Tea Partiers or Radical Rights is that they are unwilling to come to the table and have some common sense and develop plans that will help ALL Americans and not just the rich or the right.

It’s unethical to take away medicare/social sec/welfare. It’s unethical for RICH Americans to whine about tax increases when the middle is just getting poorer and poorer and are unable to buy stuff to jump start the economy. Remember it’s never the rich that keep an economy going – it’s the middle, the middle comes out and actually buys stuff. This is the first time in our history where this generation will do worse than their parents. The middle just can’t keep up and I agree with what Dibs said about how we got into this financial situation – it wasn’t just the bad Bush years (although their de-regulation policies surely helped it along) but it was the sheer greed of wall street.

  2. “Anyone with an audience that big needs to be taken deadly seriously. Limit yourself to trite insults at your peril. Seriously, it is just not that hard to refute some of the things I just posted. You should try it.”

Indeed I take them seriously because I think they are the most destructive political force to crop up in many a year.\

But your problem, lech, is that you’ve appointed yourself debate manager and have decided what you think is an answer or not. Perhaps you should jump right in and defend your position before you bitch that others aren’t debating the issue.

  3. Hal re Angle:
That more people see the need to defend themselves / separate more from the rest of society because they are fearful for the future (economic collapse), and mistrustful of the govt.
Not my own view (I’m an optimist by nature) but not uncommon. I know several NY financial types, not all Republicans, who have bought guns in the past year ot two.

  4. “Pick an issue and refute it, cobblehiller. If you can.”

You first. Bait, bait, bait, but you never put much on the line yourself! When you start being honest about your political leanings, then maybe I’ll respond to your endless annoying baiting.

  5. Slope,

I’m from Maine and from the quick read I gave it, that blog is a liberal one based on the issues they mention and their spin. The state issues are all ones in frequent discussion.

  6. “Of course you couldn’t. It’s easier than actually thinking about the issues, isn’t it? It’s a nice safe place where you can convince yourself that by characterizing your opponent as racist that relieves you of the obligation to actually think.”

You’re not the only one with a working brain, Lech. How about using it, instead of just throwing around insults?
