WHY HEALTHCARE REFORM WON’T WORK:
In a nutshell:
Is Healthcare an industry or an entitlement?
If it is an industry, albeit one in which the byproduct is to serve mankind, it should be allowed to proceed as such. Especially since it makes up 17% of our economy and we are a capitalist, “free market” nation.
If it is an entitlement, then the people should vote on that and re-structure the entire medical industry into one in which doctors are all paid equally and medicine is distributed equally.
We didn’t get to vote on it, or we did, and the congressmen didn’t like what we had to say, nor did the President.
That’s the problem.
And the dems couldn’t get enough support among their own ranks to pass an “entitlement” healthcare bill.
What we have now is a hybrid which seeks to squeeze an entitlement mentality into a free market structure.
Won’t work.
Why?
Because the bill artificially expands demand by huge numbers while not addressing supply in any meaningful way.
Supply in terms of doctor compensation, hospital compensation and tort law reform.
The President is laboring to present this malformed attempt at universal/one payer medicine as a free market enterprise. All the while ignoring that is turns free market principles upside down.
it’s ackward and bulky and may be the worst piece of legislation in our history. not because of its intent,
because of it cynicism.
ugh you people yammering on and on saying the same things over and over while poor lindsay lohen is stuck in rehab right this second and they aren’t letting her tweet about it!
I would suggest to all of you to log onto weather.com and look at Nicole coming up the east coast. use the “Weather In Motion” map and scroll southwards.

Gem10, I also love CBS Sunday Morning. I also prefer The Early Show over the Today Show.
DIBS, still not too late to get on AMD. FUSION baby FUSION (the chip).
Montrose, while I was looking that up, I had a depressing insight.
The Right: Lower taxes
The Left: Don’t let people starve
The Right: Individual freedom
The Left: Take care of sick people
It’s all empty rhetoric no one would casuaully disagree with.
Am going to check on the Rental of The day to see if they posted another ridiculously high priced rental in an iffy nabe!
Awwww Dibs – Ur starting to sound like a broken record with your 12:44 post. Must we go through again WHY we need gov’t spending.
Legion, I like Cary Grant’s greeting in “The Philadelphia Story” better, which I think suits you and your entrances here:
“Hello friends and enemies”
ugh you people yammering on and on saying the same things over and over while poor lindsay lohen is stuck in rehab right this second and they aren’t letting her tweet about it!
