Read, DIBS, again. Those are not true Democrats. How can one have a progressive bone in one’s body and be able to withstand the stench of Republicanism? Or of the Toilet Paper Party?
I am wondering what y’all think about Mary McDonnell’s views on evolution, including that, if evolution were real, monkeys would be evolving into human beings before our very eyes. Discuss.
There’s extra sandwiches, salad and dessert in the conference room.
I had a colleague who said that he had a God-given gift to sniff out food in conference rooms immediately after meetings ended. He told me though that with age he was losing it a bit.

>half of the tea party are independents and disaffected dems
I truly cannot agree with this statement. A real Democrat could never countenance voting for the TP, nor even for the GOP in its current incarnation. I look back 20-30 years ago and there were quite a few Repubs I could possibly see voting for in the right circumstances. Today, none (maybe Snowe). So I think any ‘Democrat’ disaffected enough to vote TP was not just not a Democrat, but has absolutely no standards, consistency or even morals to speak of. The Dems can have done nothing to alienate true Dems, and don’t get cridit for all the progressive stuff they have done.

So would Democrats.
“There’s extra sandwiches, salad and dessert in the conference room.
I used to like posting that at the old office because etson would see it and come by.”

“I meant McCarthy, not MacArthur. The General had his issues, but fascism wasn’t one of them.”
Actually, MM, I would say MacArthur was one corncob shy of being a fascist — a Mussolini-style fascist, not a Hitler-style fascist.
cmu, there are many, many Dems who are looking for an alternative to the current party’s left of centre platform, MANY.

jester, knowing that you’re from hunting country, I’m wondering what your views are on guns? And the NRA? And, yes, I’m serious.
