  1. Math doesn’t really change all that much, nor the way you teach it.

Neither do many other subjects until you get to genetics, immunology and those sorts of things. Then you should actually be reading the journals for the most up-to-date research

  2. RF – thanks for the info

Dave -yes snacks – I have to admit when a friend of mine who is a teacher told me that she buys snacks for her class to eat at 10am I laughed myself silly saying – wow we really baby these kids, I never had snacktime in 3rd grade
but then I remember what I was THINKING about at 10am and it was what was inside my lunch box and I was certainly not learning until I ate – so i think it might be a good idea to take 10 mins to pass out some graham crackers to get kids to focus again….

  3. “my mother refused to let my sister have the diamond from her the wedding ring from my father”

“and my mother gave me sister”

OMG! did anyone else have problems reading cgar’s 10:36. I read it 3x before it made sense.

  4. “she’d like it to be reset and is uncomfortable wearing the same exact ring that his ex-wife did. He doesn’t want to change it. Thoughts? ”
my thought — heteros are such drama queens.

  5. So they have to update textbooks every four years? Seems crazy. I was taught with a lot of 20-30 year old textbooks. For some subjects we didn’t use textbooks at all – teachers wrote their own notes.
