“I must be hitting on some kernel of truth if it’s bringing out the lefty heavy hitters like MM, Slopefarma and yourself.”
No kernels of truth, Legion, just boldfaced propaganda and innuendo, based on the opinion that someone’s personal credo of faith is not paraded around loudly, or “correctly” enough for the right. I would be saying this no matter who the president is. I would say it about Bush. I take faith seriously, and don’t like other people defining it for me, or anyone else. Having, or not having, faith is not a criteria for being a good, or effective president. Many of the most “faith-filled” idividuals in office were not good presidents.
Mandel bread, Biff, lol, but your characterization is on the nose. My grandmother was a great baker, but her mandel bread fell flat. You don’t like almonds?
“My point was that worship is an integral part of Christianity”
Well, my point is that I seriously disagree that ‘public worship” makes any difference at all in whether or not you ‘believe’. It’s a display, it doesn’t tell what is in a person’s heart, or between them and their g*d.
The most bogus Halloween costumes is when you get the older kids who zip their jackets up above their heads and go as a headless whatever. I have a feeling 75% of New Jersey kids probably pull that lame trick. Rob, can you confirm?
Or worse are the kids that make no effort at all and just go door to door with no costume at all and ask for candy…especially when it isn’t even Halloween.

“People taht form their own small Churches in repressive regimes are heroes.”
Like people who form smoking clubs in NYC?

OK, Pete, lol, but can you at least loan me $200 until pay day?
Merkincence was one of the gifts the Three Kings brought with them.
