  1. Ok, here is the happiness plan for this weekend. I am going to make some of my favorite foods and will do a sunday dinner:

1 – Clam soup – made with small (sweet) clams using a clam broth and white wine (and garlic) topped off by fresh parsley.

    2- Eggplant Parmagiana

3- Grilled Tuna – small red potatoes. Asparagus.

Nice white wine – Savignon Blanc

  2. “It never ceases to amaze me the frugal creativity and wacko short-term fixes from the former owner(s) in keeping this building from falling down. I have been undoing screwy patches and bandaids since I bought the place.”

My experience too donatella. I was undoing their “handywork” for 10 years. They were do it yourselfers who shouldn’t have been — and they weren’t even Jewish!!

I got very lucky with the tenants. Great tenants for 8 years; OK tenants for 1 year; and psychos for the last year. And non-payment was never an issue — it was more like falling asleep in bed while smoking & drinking, and burning cigarette patterns in the 140-year-old newly finished floors — and there was no smoking allowed in the lease! This and the OK tenants (who only had 3 psychotic episodes) are why I tell people to run for their lives if they encounter a certain Brown Harris Stevens broker!

  3. Ishtar – wait the R was always clear and sweet – what’s happening now?

I hate when people clip or file their fingernails on the train – that’s sooooo gross!

meatballs with mozz – is it a hero?

  4. Well, just to soothe myself, I shared with her my sentiments. Something my proper mother would like — like “it’s bad enough getting slammed by your ass, but I am being hit by your hairdo too”. She got a seat and gave me the stink eye. hahaha. Now I have to wash my hair with an anti-lice agent.

  5. I rode the R yesterday for the firs time in ages. I really feel for the folks living off that line. That line after Labor Day is going to be down right awful. I used to commute from Sunset Park and I never saw the R as crowded as I did yesterday.
